Welcome to the Man At Arms Mini Web Site!

This is where it all started back on the 24th November 1985. It wasn't easy back then! There was one Wednesday night not long after we moved in. We opened the doors at 6:00pm, as we do now, and waited for the customers - and waited - and waited, until eventually at five minutes to ten two gentlemen walked in. That night we sold two Jumbo Sausages and two pints of Davenports Bitter! It was enough to make us give up, but we knew what we were doing was the right thing and gradually the word spread. Within six months we had the busiest pub in the area and haven't looked back since. Obviously the amount of places to eat locally have increased ten fold since then, but THE MAN AT ARMS still holds its own in an ever more demanding environment.

This pub started "Two Meals and a bottle of House Wine for £9.99" (now £12.99 - not bad - an increase well below inflation!)

Always a great atmosphere in here, so enjoy yourself and don't forget to let us know what you thought of your visit.

Keep up the good work.
NOTE: The Man at Arms is closed from 16th June and will re-open on 30th June, for refurbishment

MAN AT ARMS AWARDED CASK MARQUE

Paul Johnson, our manager at The Man at Arms has been awarded the highly prestigious CASK MARQUE for the quality of his beers. Paul said "I'm always very particular about the way I keep my beers and it's great for the extra effort I put in to be recognised by an independent body".

The award comes to The Man at Arms at an exciting time. This is our 23rd year of trading at The Man at Arms (and they said it wouldn't last!). We will shortly be embarking on a total change of decor and style whilst keeping the same value for money. If you want a sneak preview of what it will look like when it's finished, you'll have to go along to The Ragley Boat Stop where we have been open just a month since the refurbishment.
